The Vietnamese Business Registration Authority has recently offered online company search services at: http://dichvuthongtin.dkkd.gov.vn/inf/default.aspx. The services allow anyone to obtain:

Basic information of a company such as name, address, name of the legal representative and business registration number for free;
Copy of the business registration of such company for VND 20,000 (about U$ 1); and
Information about the changes to the business registration of such company for the last three years for VND 100,000 (about US$5).

In the past, although the Business Registration Authority collects many information about companies in Vietnam, it does not make it available to the public. As such, no independent company search is possible when conducting legal due diligence into Vietnamese companies. The online search service now changes that.
